Device Benefits and Features

The LunaLite Bluetooth System is designed to enhance intraoral dental X-ray techniques through

guided angulation, visual confirmation, and smart sensor technology.

Touchscreen Guided Angulation

The LunaLite features an easy to use touchscreen display that allows the end user to scroll through the precise angulation needed for any intraoral dental X-ray.

The device includes preset angulations designed for:

Full Mouth Series

Periapicals

Bitewings

On-screen images help users quickly determine the correct angle based on tooth orientation picture.

External Laser Guidance

The LunaLite includes an external laser that provides clear visual cues during positioning. When the dental X-ray machine is properly aligned to the selected angle, the laser indicates that the correct external angulation has been achieved.

This feature helps improve accuracy, consistency, and confidence when taking radiographs.

We recommend patients look down away from the laser or close their eyes during positioning.

Compatibility and Secure Placement

The LunaLite can be used on most conehead X-ray units, including mobile devices, as long as the PID is three inches or longer.

Attaches using surgical-grade straps that wrap securely around the PID

Features a non-slip grip base to help hold the unit firmly in place during use

LunaBite Bluetooth Assistance

The LunaBite is the Bluetooth-enabled mouth sensor designed to work in conjunction with the LunaLite system. It is designed to fit most Snap-A-Ray systems and easily slides into position.

The LunaBite serves two key functions:

Patient Positioning Detection

The LunaBite indicates whether the patient is positioned parallel to the ground for proper alignment. If the patient moves out of position, the green LED light will turn off, alerting the end user that repositioning is needed before exposure.

Exposure Ready Confirmation

When both the LunaLite and LunaBite are powered on, a green LED light confirms that the Bluetooth sensor has detected the film, or phosphor plate in the patient's mouth. This confirms proper setup and indicates it is safe to take the X-ray.

Charging
Both the LunaLite and LunaBite charge using a standard USB connection for convenience and compatibility.

Infection Control

Units can be wiped down with alcohol for cleaning and disinfection. The LunaLite can be covered with a plastic barrier while the laser still functions properly.

Legacy Version
We also offer the original
LunaLite system without Bluetooth assistance.

This version:

  • Provides external laser guided angulation only
  • Does not include the LunaBite sensor
  • Is ideal for dental offices or educational settings focused on teaching proper external angulation techniques
